MOUNT FOREST – The Mount Forest Lions Club continues to do amazing things in the community, as on Wednesday night (Oct. 19) the club made yet another donation to a local organization.

During a break in the annual celebrity bingo at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex, the Lions presented Ontario Miss Mid West president Barb MacArthur and #GetInTouchForHutch’s Myrna Hutchison with a cheque for $700 to be used towards the purchase of a Buddy Bench.

The purpose of the Buddy Bench is give people a place to sit if they feel lonely or sad, with the idea that others will see someone on the bench and try to include them in conversation or play to show them “you are never alone.”

The donation came from the proceeds of the celebrity bingo, which saw 161 players attend.
